The Three Step Rewind Technique was initially designed to help parents to overcome difficult feelings that can be left behind after what they would consider to be a traumatic birth. However, any post traumatic stress would benefit from sessions of this wonderful technique.
So far I have worked with women around their birth stories and other situations such as a fear of flying or a traumatic relationship break up. The technique does not take away any memories and cannot erase trauma but instead neutralises uncomfortable feelings and helps individuals to move on and enjoy their lives. Symptoms of trauma could be panic attacks, depression, irritability, difficulties with sleeping or concentrating. It can be difficult especially when others around don't understand what the person is going through. That is what I am here to help with, allowing you to feel heard whilst offering a calming experience.
What I recommend is to book three sessions. The first session will include lots of space holding. You will be given plenty of time to tell you story if you wish to. We can actually work without you telling your story if you prefer because this is all about you and your individual needs.
With each session you will be given the opportunity to experience a deeply relaxing meditation which allows you to re visit your situation in the most calm, safe and nurturing way. I do recommend taking all three sessions as they build upon each other. The intention is that by the time you reach the end of the third session you will remember your story perfectly but be able to feel more positive and able to cope with the memory. If three sessions is not enough then it is perfectly fine to have more sessions, everyone is different and each situation is unique.
